Find out how you can get 20 free ECE hours for your child.

Funding & support

20 Hours Free ECE

ACPT is part of the Government’s 20 Hours Early Childhood Education (ECE) programme, helping make quality early learning more accessible for families.

Children aged 3 to 5 years (2 to 5 years at our Mar Addai centre) may be eligible for up to 20 hours of subsidised ECE per week, with a maximum of 6 hours per day. If your child attends for more than 20 hours per week, standard fees will apply to the additional hours.

To access 20 Hours ECE, simply enrol your child at one of our ACPT preschools and complete the required attestation as part of the enrolment process. Your fees will then be adjusted in accordance with the fee schedule for your preschool.

Childcare Subsidy

You may also be eligible for a Childcare Subsidy through the Ministry of Social Development (MSD). Eligibility and the amount of assistance available depend on your individual circumstances and the type and hours of care your child receives.

You may be eligible if you:

  • Are the main caregiver of the child

  • Are a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident

  • Have a child receiving at least three hours of childcare per week

For more information, eligibility criteria and to apply, visit their website or speak with our preschool office for assistance.

FamilyBoost

Families may also be eligible for the Government’s FamilyBoost childcare payment, administered by Inland Revenue (IRD).

FamilyBoost helps eligible families with the cost of early childhood education. If you qualify, you can claim a portion of your eligible childcare fees from IRD each quarter, subject to the applicable payment limits and eligibility requirements.

ACPT will provide families with a quarterly statement to help make the claiming process easier.

For the latest information about eligibility, payment amounts and how to apply, visit the IRD website.

We’re here to help. If you have questions about your fees, funding or available financial assistance, please talk to your preschool office. Our team will be happy to help you understand what support may be available to your family.
