CENTRE PHILOSOPHY
The ACPT is a Non-profit, Bilingual, Community-based service for children aged 0 – 5 years, with Christian values based on Catholic teachings of AROHA for God, Jesus Christ and each other.
We offer your child and family a safe, supportive and challenging, learning environment where the emphasis is on learning with fun and family values.
Our professional teaching team believes that young children learn best through play. Our planned programme is based on the National Early Childhood Curriculum document – Te-Whariki & NELP. Children are encouraged to make their own choices, to experiment and to explore at their own pace.
Teachers work alongside children, observing, identifying and extending children’s strengths and interests.
Our aim is to support each child under our care to strive spiritually, emotionally, intellectually, culturally, physically and socially. We are committed to real partnership with aiga (families) and whanau. We acknowledge the Treaty of Waitangi and the dual cultural heritage of Aotearoa New Zealand. Management and Educators will endeavour to teach and extend children’s sense of learning within the parameter of their culture, about the cultural diversity of their local community and the wider world.
